Health is Progress, Not Perfection

Hi, I'm Anne, a very busy 49 year-old mother of 7 children and fiancée to one terrific man. We are a big, loud, bright and diverse family and taking care of everyone certainly keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
My quick background: I'm a trained chef, a former recipe developer and food photographer for Disney's many websites and currently a food blogger at Cooking with Anne, which I've run since 2005. I'm also a CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor certified through the American Red Cross. I've spent more than 5 years working in group homes with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, taking care of their every need including specialized diets and physical therapy regimens.
My own health background isn't all too exciting, but with a couple issues like migraine headaches, low vitamin D, joint problems, hypoglycemia and a family history of diabetes, I've had my share to deal with and strive to overcome. I realized fairly early on that genetics played a role, but  the way I lived and the foods I ate were two things I had a reasonable amount of control over and I felt better when I was doing the right things.
I am not perfect in any way and the way I approach better health is that I don't expect perfection from my family or clients. PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION. If you've been walking a thousand steps a day, the next best thing is 1,001, not automatically heading to 10 thousand. Work your way up and remember that pain is NOT gain - pain is pain.
If you take a deep breath when things get rough, next time work your way up to two concentrated and thoughtful deep breaths. If you've been eating an apple a day, work your way up to an apple and a handful of grapes or baby carrots. Each step counts and your body will thank you!
Now, how can I help?  I've learned how to take care of my whole person thought the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and am ready to share what I've learned with YOU.  Dr. Sears teaches the four pillars of health:
Lifestyle - The Way We Live
Exercise - The Way We Move
Attitude - The Way We Think
Nutrition - The Way We Eat
Let me help you live a L.E.A.N. life, today! Check out my services and if none of them seem to fit, send me an email and I will tailor sessions to exactly what you need just where you are on your health journey. In other words, I'll meet you where you're at and help you to make PROGRESS.
